South of the Mataura island bridge, including the Mataura River but more specifically the Titiroa and the Gorge Road streams.
There are 75 members in the Catchment Group. They are always looking for the next area to focus on while continuing to build engagement and revisit the core catchment group areas.
The Lower Mataura Catchment Group was established in 2016.
Mix of dairy and sheep and beef farmers.
The group recently held a MCI introduction day and stream health chat with Robyn Holmes from Cawthron Institute.
Future topics discussed include an update from Great South and a riparian management Field day in Waimahaka.
