The sessions will be run by Thriving Southland’s very own Communications Manager Lee Cowan. Lee is a strategic communications and crisis communications expert with over twenty years’ experience providing strategic input, innovative solutions and marketing and communications advice to senior leaders across a variety of sectors. She is also a passionate presenter on public perception, community engagement, story-telling and communications.

Join us for an evening of practical workshops with tips and tricks to grow your own native plants.  Learn how to collect, process and sow seed, and pot up seedlings.  There will also be an information session on the right plants, right place, for the right purpose, and basic species identification.  Stay on for BBQ and refreshments afterwards.

GREATER DIPTON CATCHMENT GROUP - KNOW YOUR ISSUES FIELD DAY

Join Greater Dipton Catchment Group for a Field Day at Frazer's dairy farm and Brian's deer block to have a look round and consider potential issues and opportunities to include in a Farm Environmental Plan. Environment Southland and DairyNZ staff will be present to help discussions around identifying and solving issues. The Field Day will end with a free BBQ lunch at Brian's woolshed.

The Aquavan is heading to Invercargill, bringing live marine critters and touch pools to schools and communities.  The aim of the project is to create awareness and understanding of the connectivity between river health and the coastal environment, in a dynamic hands-on way.

We are running a public event alongside the Education Programme, so bring the family, come along and have some fun!

He shows how strong purpose builds stronger groups, better engagement, and successful and innovative projects. Roger is a passionate Catchment Group member in the Rangitikei catchment, farming through the Horizons Regional Council policy changes, so has some useful insights to share. Roger will be supported by local consultant Mo Topham. These events are open for everyone in the community to attend.
