WAIHOPAI CATCHMENT GROUP - ON-FARM RECYLCING FIELD DAY
Come along and join the Waihopai Catchment Group for a relaxed on farm recycling field day on Joel & Linnet Burn's farm.
All welcome - Bring your gumboots and good ideas to share! Joel & Linnet will share what they do, their top tips, and some new options that they have just heard about.
Rain or shine the event will be on at Joel & Linnet's woolshed. Signposts will lead you from the road to the woolshed, and there will be hot drinks and biscuits.

WAIMATUKU CATCHMENT GROUP - PLANTING DAY
Help us to plant 400 Natives!
A farmer in our catchment is doing some native planting on his farm. We want to bring the community together to give him a helping hand and learn valuable skills on the do's and don'ts of native planting. Join us to increase biodiversity in the Waimatuku catchment.

The Waikaka catchment group and Beef + Lamb NZ are happy to bring a Farm planning workshop to Waikaka. They are applicable to all farming types and free.
This is a two part workshop. Part one will be held in Waikaka on the 7th of July from 1-6pm. Part two will be later in October/November.

LOWER ORETI CATCHMENT GROUP - WINTERING FIELD DAY
The Lower Oreti Catchment Group invite local farmers to join them at a Wintering Field Day to look at different wintering systems, discuss environmental risks around wintering and how to manage these risks on your farm. It will also provide an opportunity to discuss tips and tricks around best practice winter grazing. There will be speakers from Beef + Lamb NZ, DairyNZ, Environment Southland on managing the risks around winter grazing and sediment trap systems. Ewen Mathieson from the Pourakino Catchment Group will also be talking about his experience with Catchment Groups and how they can benefit our farms, businesses and the local community.

2021 AQUAVAN: DISCOVERING OUR CATCHMENT AND COASTAL CONNECTIONS
The Aquavan is heading to Winton, bringing live marine critters and touch pools to schools and communities in the Central Southland area. The aim of the project is to create awareness and understanding of the connectivity between river health and the coastal environment, in a dynamic hands-on way.
We are running a community event alongside the Education Programme, so bring the family, come along and have some fun!

WINTER 2021 - ARE YOU PREPARED?
Do you winter stock on grass, bailage or crop? Do you have a written wintering plan for 2021? Or is it all in your head?
Having a Winter Plan means you and your team are more likely to be implementing good management practice and have a plan on what to do when the rain sets in.
The Aparima Catchment Groups (ACE), with support from Farmlands, DairyNZ, Beef+Lamb and Farm Source, are hosting drop in sessions for farmers with or without a Wintering Plan. This is chance for a Rural Professional to look over your Wintering Plan or to get your plan down on paper.

MID ORETI CATCHMENT GROUP - eDNA WATER TESTING & WATER QUALITY DEMONSTRATIONS EVENING
Join the Mid Oreti Catchment Group for an informative evening, as they use an eDNA water testing kit to take a water sample from the Winton Stream. The eDNA testing will pick up DNA found in the water way from organisms that live in the water and also organisms where their DNA has ended up in the water. Ainsley will also give a demonstration on how to take water samples correctly for different types of analysis, should people wish to take sample in the future on their own properties, and use a water quality sonde to take some water quality readings and then describe the results.

Roger Dalrymple joins us to share his knowledge and experience of building Catchment Groups with strong purpose.
He shows how strong purpose builds stronger groups, better engagement, and successful and innovative projects. Roger is a passionate Catchment Group member in the Rangitikei catchment, farming through the Horizons Regional Council policy changes, so has some useful insights to share. Roger will be supported by local consultant Mo Topham. These events are open for everyone in the community to attend.
