MEDIA RELEASE Thriving Southland and Bridgestone Partner to Support Rural Communities

Thriving Southland is proud to announce a new partnership with New Zealand’s most trusted tyre brand, Bridgestone, helping Thriving Southland to continue its work in supporting sustainable farming, community-led projects, and environmental stewardship across the region.

"Having Bridgestone as a partner is a fantastic step forward for Thriving Southland and our Catchment Groups," says Richard Kyte, Thriving Southland Project Lead. "Their commitment to rural communities aligns with our mission to help Southland farmers take charge of their environmental goals while running productive businesses. With their support, we can continue to drive positive change across Southland."

Bridgestone is the market leading tyre brand in New Zealand and provides tyre solutions across its entire product portfolio ranging from passenger, SUV, 4x4, truck and agricultural tyres. The company is guided by the values of the Bridgestone E8 Commitment, which outlines eight areas where the company is focused on contributing to a more sustainable world.

According to Bridgestone’s Director of NZ Business, Jon Tamblyn, the newly forged partnership with Thriving Southland is a demonstration of how Bridgestone is striving for a more sustainable future through industry involvement.

“Bridgestone’s global business strategy was developed with sustainability at its core, and our partnership with Thriving Southland is a demonstration of what this looks like on a local level. Through this partnership, we look forward to playing a role in meaningful initiatives that are focused on ecology and efficiency – two of the Bridgestone E8 Commitment values, benefiting both farmers and the environment,” Tamblyn said.

Bridgestone will contribute funding towards Thriving Southland’s mission to create a better future for all. In return, Bridgestone will feature in Thriving Southland’s newsletters, social media, and the Catchment Convos podcast, providing farmers with insights and advice. They will also be at the Southern AgriTech & Innovation Day on 1 May, giving farmers a closer look at their products and sustainability initiatives.
