Awesome, informative day out at Colac Bay for the Orepuki 2023 Ace Stream Walk - Receiving Environments field day.
We discussed a range of topics including detainment bunds, sediment traps and constructed wetlands. Some locals shared their knowledge of Lake George - great example of a receiving environment.

2022 Orepuki ACE Stream Walk
Orepuki Catchment Group had a stunner of a day for our ACE Stream Walk 2022 at the Waimeamea Stream!
Teeming with life - we had a very interesting day out.
We caught and saw loads of native fish showing there is a strong healthy population present in the stream. There were more bugs in the MCI sample then one could count!
We are looking forward to getting the eDNA results back to confirm all the species we identify and all those that are there that we didn't spot.
