Southland's Catchment Groups are local communities working together to improve the health of our land, water and biodiversity, while building resilient farming businesses and connected rural communities.
There are 37 Catchment Groups across Southland, covering more than 90% of the region, with new groups continuing to form. Whether you're looking to connect with your local group, attend an event, or see what projects are happening in your area, this is the place to start.
Every Catchment Group is unique, but they all share a common goal: empowering local communities to find practical solutions for their catchment. From field days and workshops to water quality monitoring, biodiversity restoration and on-farm projects, each group is helping shape a healthier, more resilient future for Southland.
